Wai,
How's the tiki-tour, mate? I figure you'll be out of comms for a spell, probably stuck in a long drop out in the wop wops, and I'll fill you in on what's been going on out in Synditude.
I've been taking care of Lumi's cat, Derelik, so you can tell her that we're getting along just fine. He just roves the station, and when I dock up for business, I'll take some time to attend to his needs; well stocked for chow and I've been taking care of his little dunny. Cat's a big fan of chin scratches; after about two seconds, the hairball flops over on his back looking for a bellyrub as well.
The Hobos, though, are NOT big fans of chin scratches. They reffed 3 of our structures, but when the timers came up, none of them bothered to bowl around. However..
Before the important timer of the night, we got a request from some rando pilot from Derpwater Hooligans to join the fleet, and then 30 minutes later a Hooligan fleet shows up to fight. Against us. Bung fuckers. It cost us a bit, in the end, but we saved the structure and carked a few of those bastards. I lost a couple damp-fit Maulus, nothing dear, but made a nuisance enough of myself damping their Logi that they primaried me whenever I was on-grid. Not bad for a dumb miner.
Their booshers were a pain in the arse, but we had tackle that stayed on top of them well enough we didn't get split too bad. Hooligans bailed after about 20 minutes of 'Find Out'; four or five dead command destroyers, a cyno recon ship, a Guardian, and a Legion, all carked. We had a dozen dreads at the ready, so it was just going to get worse for them the longer they stayed.
The new BS doctrine has its flaws, but its advantages as well. Our alliance only lost one BS, and it was more pilot error than anything. Our friends that joined us for the evening lost a couple strategic cruisers, which was probably the hardest blow.
So, we're all keeping the beat. With the big Null blocs heading off to war, we're all ramping up capital ship component production to take advantage of the expected demand as the cracker battles start happening. All those big ships need us miners, industrialists to make them happen. Enjoy the tramping holiday, and we'll see you when you get back.
Cheers,
Tasman
