Frontier Daze#19

 Dear Alois,

I'm glad your letter arrived before we went tramping off into the jungle for the next leg of our trip. Gabi, always the smart one, made sure we were prepared for a week at the beach, and so none of us got too savagely sunburned. We're heading inland a thousand Km, get into the shade of the rainforests, so mail may take even longer to reach us, since we're on a planet without a station orbiting nearby.

First few nights, it was odd seeing space and stars from planet-side, and not being in a ship amongst them.

My uncle Kartsev, you may remember from our wedding, says we are just passengers aboard a larger, older, more perfect spacecraft (referring to the planet itself). Always the philosopher, dyadya. Gabi and Lumi are having a great time as well, if in no other sense than laughing at those of us who usually spend too much time in pods, trying to swim, run on the beach, or climb trees.

Comedy aside, it's really been an amazing experience. After the first week of this, Gabi's so much as declared we're spending at least one weekend per month planet-side from here on out. I should buy a sturdy shuttle and start scouting out a nice planet for a cabin (an ancient form of habitation module).

As for your request, it seems like part of the larger rumblings we've heard over the last few months. Fissures in some of the old alliances, might crop up some security status and standings complications for us all. We'll have a roundtable when we return, get all the wiser heads together, like dyadya and my father, look at our options.

Until then,

Wairua
