Ultima Occidens #12

 Wai,

Deimos is a cracker ride, mate.. belt ratting and general security is a blast with it. Been wingman for your uncle for a couple moon pops and a beaut Mercoxit anom, and we've been tearing it up. The mining is a bit different out here, less big boosty fleets lasting for hours, and more ad hoc action where just your uncle and I hit something fast for a bit, and then shift.

The other night, we hit a moon pop that was deep in the pocket, and while your uncle was on the moon rocks, I was checking out the asteroid belts. Found a couple choice things: The belts have some Mercoxit, and the pirate patrols can have three battleships and elite escorts. So, stiff ore, and stiff combat to get it. Your uncle kitted up a Venture with a Deep Core laser, and we went hunting for Morphite in the belts that night, and yesterday, a Mercoxit anom appeared in our hub system. So easy-peasy, we did the yakka to snag some choice ores to turn into some hopeful indy profits.

I think we'll try to roll together in Procurers or Endurances, for ore anoms (Like our two Mackinaws for Ice), and see how that goes. There's not much on the market out in our pocket, so whatever we want, we'll need to build. Still, the miner + combat wingman setup has worked beaut for mining ore and bounties + rat loot.

Speaking of profits, seems like moon goo is down a bit in price. Lumi said she feels skint after helping out the highsec fleet with their moons, and your uncle says he only hits moons to get some materials he doesn't already have. Since we're not quite ready to get reactions spun up, there's not even a big pressure for that. Some folks are pointing to the new Metenox drills for the moon goo price lowering. The economics are fuzzy at best, since the new drills only pull in about 40% of what an Athanor + fleet might, and the costs to run them being in flux as well.

Oh, how's the bargain shopping down near the Hive going? Aside from your Muninn disaster, that is..

Cheers,

Tasman
