Ultima Occidens #7
Oi Wai,
Does Gabi know you've been hanging around in Serpentis Prime? I've done a bit of yakka with ORE, so I know the draw of bringing in loyalty points, but Serps are something else entirely.
I've taken a cheap, meta-fit Thorax, and have been giving a hiding to the Serp ratbags in the asteroid belts around the new bach. She's not a dear thing, but she can tank the usual belt rats while taking her time melting them with meta blasters. It's been so fun, I want a hopped up Deimos to do it better, faster.
Warp to the belt at 30Km, then approach the group at and angle to keep some transversal, and we're good as gold. I keep a tracking disruptor on the hardest hitting ship in the mob, and then get into a tight orbit around the leader, web and start firing, deploy drones, and get them on target as well. Gotta web these Serps, even their battleships are flat out zippy.
When I first started doing these, I found that if you cark all the wee ones in the squad first, the head punters will bugger off before you can get them munted. So, you go for the leader first, orbit tight and web him, tracking disrupt the next DPS, then work your way down. Leader carked, you web and orbit the next, and disrupt the next DPS.
Some of these wee ratbags will target the drones, so I occasionally pull one in when they're getting munted, or tracking disrupt any small ratbag not locked on me. The mid-sized ratbags can drop some ammo for my guns, but never enough for what I'm depositing into their hulls. Making charges as fast as I spray them out.
We should chat about end of month PI roundup, and get it to your uncle, eh?
Cheers,
Tasman
