School Daze #7

 Dad,

I hope you and uncle K are good as gold. I'm plugging along down here, sweet as, making headway on the studies, making connections to get access to the labs, and making heaps of isk on the side. Had a cracker of a run yesterday, shuttling some Duvolle grads to their graduation. I warped into the system, where I was supposed to drop them off, and spotted a Serpentis hideaway on the scope. Rather than docking up, I thought I'd be a dag and take the labrats to see some tech in action, and told the guys to strap in. Warped to the site, dropped drones, and hit the burners for a choice orbit of the hut. I heard one of the labrats chuck chunder when I hit the first turn, and they were all whimpering when they heard shots pinging off the armor. Still, I dispatched the muppets flat out, and then their boss undocked, thinking to give me a bloody mare.

We had a good transversal going, and between me and the drones, scrapped him quick too. One of my missiles must have hit him so hard, an implant popped out his noggin, and he had some choice ammo in the hold as well. I mopped up the scene (and later the grotty mess in the passenger bay), and dropped off the scientists to their graduation. A couple of the guys actually thanked me for a thrilling trip, and a up-close look at the end product of their future work.

I got back to Mirilene, and the boss gave me a proper rark up. Apparently, Dr. Chunder complained to management after the trip, and I've been told "no extracurricular activities with lab cargo on board," or something to that effect. Still, the lab head saw me in the commons, smiled and shook his head as he walked on.

Anyway, I won't be home next weekend. Gabi's parents have a summer habitation module in Placid, and she thinks the trip (in a Wreathe) would be good practice for getting off gates flat out. I'll get the cloak and warp technique down, and she'll be right.
