School Daze #3
Dear Dad,
Things down in Sinq are fine, so stop worrying. I wowed my first boss at Duvolle enough that they had me fly in an air show! Though, downside, they had me fly a winged butt-plug the Gallentes call a ‘shuttle’. Anyway, did so well that I got a promotion, and the new boss flat out put me to work shuttling garbage to hide in other stations. Though the pay isn’t much better, I’m supplementing on the side (nothing dodgy).
I bought a Probe with the cash you gave me, fit it with a launcher, salvager, mining laser and some drones, so I can seize various opportunities as they arise. After a delivery, I’ll hit Serpentis campsites I see on scan on the way back to the office. Scored a warp field disruption field generator, which will keep me and the mates in Lion Brown for a couple months, and salvaging the wrecks pays better than the gofer jobs for the lab.
One run, I found myself next to a lowsec system, and popped in to spy it out. The customs tax rates there are 15%, but I did manage to simultaneously score you some Golden Omber and kill a Serpentis cruiser. I pulled into the station with the Probe’s armor studded with iron charges, much to the shock of the other hopeful-scientists. One spoiled ratbag (dad’s a big Plex trader in Jita) said he’d bet I was Minmatar. I replied “if that’s true, that you think I’m Minmatar, then perhaps the best course of action would be to tread lightly..” The kid blanched, and backed away as I unloaded my salvage, loot and ore. Some cute Gallente bird on the security detail smiled at me afterwards. We’re meeting up for some lagers later, sweet as.
Anyway, I’ll drop by the house next weekend (yeah, laundry) and ask what I should do with this Barren Command Center I picked up in Dodixie.
Cheers,
Wai
