Work Daze #39
Dad,
Turned out, I was home for (a late) dinner. The radiation blast from the star obliterated the structures anchored around the star, and elsewhere, but left the empire-owned stations at least existent. All the ships in space were heavily munted, but many of the pilots keen as to complete the star's destruction of their neighboring ships soon after. It was insane. I rolled out, quietly, after the gates came back online and after the bulk of the cark-a-thon was done. Gabi and Lumi were glad to get me home.
I'm glad the Minmatar are in control of the other solar transmuters in Vard and Egmar, as they might be slightly more disposed to safeguard their planets than the Amarr were. But, scientists will be scientists; always looking for gaps in the ethical hedge protecting humanity. Anyway, I'll be planting data recorders there as well, figuring that something will eventually go bung there.
My Turnur data recorders showed similar damage to local ships, but I've been knuckle under on the data they gathered the last couple weeks. And, of course, you've seen the news coverage of the devastation of Turnur I. The folks that remained on the planet chose their fate, but still.. no words. I bet dyadya Kartsev would be keen as to conduct some geological studies of the planet surface, see if new isotopes of precious or reactive metals were formed.
After I got back, I had a word with one of your mates, the one I squizzed while tiki-touring in Syndicate before the wedding, and he invited me to check out a base of operations there for planetary commodities. The output is beaut, so I've wrapped up my command centers in Sinq, and have started shifting ops out there. You can tell dyadya Kartsev to expect a choice load of robotics and uranium at the end of the month.
Turns out, I'll end up doing some side-jobs for Intaki after all. It was an easy in, really (maybe a wee slimy, as well); I rolled into the Intaki Syndicate station, to their distribution office, asked if I could use receptionist's comm panel for a sec, and called my father-in-law's office. I said a quick hello, said Gabi and Lumi were itching to visit, made plans and hung up. 2 minutes later, the distro agent pinged me for a quick run. So, when I tiki-tour out here to manage the commodities plants, I can cop some ISK with quick jobs. Not bung at all.
I hope you and dyadya are good as gold, I'll bowl around with the family after I finish getting set up in Syndicate. Been talking to Gabi, and she would like to live closer to her folks, maybe not in Placid, but maybe in Verge.
Yours,
Wai
