Plus Ultra #10

 Dear Wai,

Another bung weekend, this time all defensive and with some hard whawhai, hard losses. But, that's why we undock, right? And from the look of our list of timers, we'll be undocking a lot over the next week.

Our local trolls are all working together, keeping us in reactive mode, rather than proactive, and it's wearing on folks. Add the constant looking over our shoulders for Deepwater and Snuffed, and it's been mentally taxing.

The first loss of the weekend, pings for DPS ships went out for a flash response formup, as the Syndicate trolls were banging on a structure of ours. I eventually caught up to the main group, and they had all left without any logi in the fleet. We just got whittled down on a gate, even the FC was out. I was one of the last deleted, and was almost timed to gate out when everyone else turned guns on me. Down one.

Later, planned defensive (again) op, and had some HUD issues that left me far out of position and easily carked. Managed to at least take a few out that time, before and after death. Down two.

Next morning, responded to a ping from an alliance POCO, with our local troll banging on it. After I got into the system, he cloaked up as always, and then I noticed another local ratbag enter system as well. I had a bad feeling, knowing this egg is always in an Arazu, a tackle/cyno ship, so I sat a my safe for a good while. Eventually, the troll uncloaked and started on the POCO again, and so I warped to 50 and he cloaked up and then the cloaky tackle uncloaked, and even though I warped to 50, I was still in this egg's tackle range.

I got tackled as.

He lit a cyno.

His mates, in 4 BLOPS battle ships, jumped in and helped delete me. [insert surprised Pikachu]

My trusty ratting HAC was just not going to be a match for all that, so that was down number three.
Here's a sketch of my weekend, I doodled in the Fortizar's cafeteria with some random crayons while waiting for another cannon-fodder ship to be put up on contracts:

Anyway, exhausting times, playing the reactionary game, fighting on multiple fronts against multiple bung enemies, seemingly without friends to help. As with our local troll, the ratshit bastards with little to lose can just set fire to whatever they want without fear of repercussions. I could take comfort in helping cark 2.4B ISK at the cost of 800M, but carking those other ships really didn't make the wallet chocka.

We'll just have to power through it; the family will just need to keep busy, keep creating value where we can, and try to minimize the losses. I feel like I failed you guys a bit, this weekend, and I'm sorry. Being stupid for noble reasons is still being stupid.

Maybe add Scimitar to your training routine, as that seems to be in demand right now.

Yours,

Dad
