Plus Ultra #16
Dear Wairua,
Well, looks like the worst of it is over, the big kinos carked just about every station the main corp in the alliance owned, but they missed a couple timers on outlier stations. Not sure if they'll be OCD as and finish the job proper, but given the level of animosity behind the attack, I would venture they want to be clean as about finishing up. The alliance avoided feeding their fleet, though we did have a couple mates with losses, getting munted by one of the new Lancers, and losing some dear wakas trying to shift out.
Looks like that whawhai we started up with that duo of nullsec and lowsec alliances had set this in motion. They were pets of the kinos that glassed us, and those kinos also needed a reckoning with our alliance for past transgressions. Couple that with the fact that we're skint for local mates, and flush with local ratbags keen as to cark us as well, we were primed for a proper hiding.
As for where we go from here, tip top are quiet as for the moment. This area is almost the wops, but not quite, still in range of choice lollies and with a not-unmanageable mix of punters and local ratbags. I hope we stick, and don't shift the whare far, if we do at all. We'll have a time with local percussive piss-ups, but since we didn't lose the fleet, for the most part, we should be able to hold our own. The big deal is preserving the capital wakas, since we've lost our industrial pipeline to the whawhai.
One of our older mates, our best industry guy, decided to gap it and joined the big null bloc to the west. I'm not keen as to change jumpers, and Winslow's been a mean as boss, friend, and leader for our crew. Once the smoke clears, we'll sift the wreckage, see where the alliance goes, and see what we want to do as a family. It's been a beaut run so far, out here, with profit, loss, challenge and opportunity. The family has done well, we've all contributed and all gained from it. Whatever happens next, we'll be good as gold together.
You know, I could have been a monk. Contemplative hedonist, or hedonist contemplative, I don't know which is more apt, but I know about just not feeling the requisite bloodlust for piracy. Be yourself, son. Follow your own path, but it does seem you sure as got some of my contemplative side. You've got brains and heart, a beaut family around you, and a keen as sense of purpose for what you want to do as a man. Hard to give a hiding to that.
Kia Pai,
Dad
