Plus Ultra #22
Wai,
Crazy as night for the fleet, that, but we got the jobs done; defended our 3 highsec structures, munted the shields on an enemy lowsec structure, and then went and carked another lowsec structure that ended up being a 25 Billion ISK kill. And then we all went home in pods.
We didn't know if the ratbags with the outstanding wardec were going to form, but we formed anyway, and jumped to the highsec pocket for the first structure timer. Their fleet beat us there, and half-heartedly started banging on the armor. As we closed in, they quick-cynoed back to the safety of their mum's basement.
Along the way, we squizzed a structure of theirs in lowsec, so while we waited on the other two highsec timers to finish repairing, we got knuckle under on stripping the shields off. The second highsec structure repaired while we did that.
While waiting on the third, one of the mates squizzed another structure nearby, that was in the process of repairing, but was still available to attack. So, we flat out reshipped into some disposable battlecruisers and hared it to that structure, and got it paused with 2 minutes to spare. We banged away through the armor, losing a few drones to the lone gunner in the station, and then started melting the hull even quicker.
The rest of it was almost simultaneous: The structure got carked, the owners fleet (PLOW) suddenly appeared in Myrmidons and Guardians, and then Deepwater Hooligans cynoed in. When the PLOW fleet appeared, at first I reckoned the ships dropped from the station kill. Until they started shooting. Our boss started calling targets, we were blapping away at them, though they had a beefy logistics wing for support. I wouldn't say Deepwater's appearance tipped the scales, but it made the idea of reshipping to whawhai over the spoils a futile one. Still, we made it back to the hub in our pods with a feeling we'd made a statement: We are NOT done.
Beyond that, going to watch the Dodixie Destroyers v. Hek Hurricanes match tomorrow night with a few cold Speight's. You and the fam are welcomed to bowl around, we can make a weekend of it.
Kikiki, Kakaka,
Dad
