School Daze #26

Dear Wairua,

By the by, that DED site to sent me was total bung. I blitzed it and made flat out for the fleet rally point, but the proceeds were 2M, mostly scrotty overseer's laundry hampers and bugger all else. It happens, but I was needed elsewhere.

As for our defense fleet, we mustered in the system, caracals + logi were our first wave, and brought heavier lumber if we needed it. Warped to the contested customs office with our cruisers, and sat... and sat... and sat some more.

Eventually, the aggrieved parties started filtering into the system, and assessed the situation. I think only 3-2 of them were in-system at that point (in uncheap battleships), and they did the math: We were promising an expensive fight over a cheap structure. Their head egg gave us a squiz on DScan and docked up, started to parlay.

Our FC and leaders spun all the yarns with their folks, and hammered out a compromise; We signed over the customs office, and we got a beaut discount off the export taxes. If the deal holds, both your uncle and I have some plants we need to get in action.

All in all, a better moment than I was expecting, and yes, I fully expected to wake up in a med clone. Glad to have kept my ships uncarked for once. Ship insurance only softens the blow; it's not cheap to get decent ships blown to ratshit.

No worries about the DED sites, that stuff happens. Sometimes you get choice kit, sometimes you get bung. You just focus on the studies and career oppos, and the mean ISK will come. Bowl around the house sometime, we miss you.

Yours,

Dad
