School Daze #38

 Dad,

It was great to have you skip down to Sinq to hang out with us, and I'll never say no to some some cold Speight's with some saussies fresh off the barbie. Gabi thinks you're a dag, and had a blast arguing over favorite assault frigates. She does so love those green potatoes, hard. Mind if I invite her up to the bach in Villore?

Dyadya is kicking himself that he didn't bring his DST down: I have a Mammoth-load of planetary industry output, salvage for him to shift back, and he's already mined a DST-worth of toka, and another half of blue ice. He's trying to find a friendly Athanor out here to let him compress the toka, so he can shift it up to Citadel. The large Gneiss anom he lucked across yielded both sweet rewards, and a couple close shaves with the local ratbags.

After you bolted back up to Citadel, he left Gabi and I to go hit the Gneiss again, knowing full well it was prime time for the local bung bastards, and he wasn't disappointed. First attempt, he got about half a heap in his Venture before a Legion warped into the anom with him. He saw him coming on DScan, and was already aligned and warping out when the Legion landed. He went to mine some more ice for an hour or so, and went back (and spotted that same ratbag Legion camping a gate in a hisec system a couple jumps out).

He's been sharing the toka field with a neut kino in an Endurance the last couple days, and everything was sweet as. The kino had just come back from dropping cargo, when not two minutes after coming back to the belt, he suddenly makes flat out again. Now dyadya had squizzed a third kino in local for a few minutes before, but hadn't seen anything on DScan, until he noticed that somehow DScan had been munted to look only 1 AU out! By the time he got it reset, a Wolf was already on overview and had started a lock and warp scram. He burned AB while aligning to get distance, then punched the warp.

He said that earlier, he was tempted to bring his Procurer out for the Gneiss, but he was glad to have the Venture instead, as the Proc would have definitely been snagged and carked.

Beyond all that, we're all good as gold. Dyadya is beached as until he can arrange transport of his heaps of choice toka and ice. He might even jump clone back to Citadel to fetch the DST to seal the deal.

Kia Ora,

Wai
