As for good paying yakka, most security agents will frequently throw you into the ratshit faction politics. They can't help it, the bastards. You can cherrypick the missions after a bit, maybe picking out only ones against pirates, but to stay in agents' good graces, they're really going to want you to help the faction's government. Maybe the Sisters of Eve might have some missions for you, and they're not far from Sinq anyway. And if they send you after that bung bastard Dagan, just realize that they'll just release him again in 3 months and you'll have to chase him down all over again.

While you're out and about playing hide-and-seek with the Serps, if you find a site where you can't see any gates or stations on DScan, start making 'Safe' locations for jumping into abyssal filaments. Once you're big enough for those gumboots, you'll have a few choice locations to choose from.
